Hold On: a security team for your parents.

Hold On is a SOC for your parents. They get one email address for anything that feels off: a text about a parcel, a call from "the bank", an email from a grandchild who needs money today. They forward it, or just ask, and get a plain answer back within minutes: a scam, it looks real, or how to check. You see the same answer. When we are unsure, a person looks at it. It is run by Atarus Security, the security firm behind Unflatline.

Coming soon: holdon.family. US only at launch.

Who it is for

The one who gets the phone call.

Hold On is for the adult child who has already said "Mom, don't click that" more than once, and for the parent who lives independently and would rather ask than guess. The parent is the one who uses it; nothing changes on their phone or computer. They are told plainly that you see what they send, and you see only what they send.

  • One addressfor the parent, on a card for the fridge
  • Minutesto a plain answer, in large type
  • No linksin any answer, ever
  • 24 hoursfor a person to look at anything uncertain

How it works

Forward it. Read the answer. You see it too.

Step 1

Your parent forwards it

You sign up and get your parent their own Hold On address, printed on a fridge card with the warning signs that mean "ask first". Anything that feels off goes there. Nothing to install.

Step 2

They get a plain answer

A verdict, the reason in one or two sentences, and one safe next step that points back to something they can check themselves: the number on their card, the app they already use, you.

A Hold On reply on a phone: This is a scam, why, what to do now, and what to do if you already clicked or paid.

Step 3

You see the same timeline

What came in, the verdict and the exact answer they got, newest first. You get an alert when money, passwords or codes are involved, and a short digest the rest of the time.

What Atarus brings

Built like a security product, because it is one.

Atarus Security runs security for organisations for a living. Hold On is that practice pointed at one inbox: watch, triage, escalate to a person when unsure, keep a log.

  1. 01

    Rails the model cannot override

Fixed rules in code sit after the model. A message that asks for money, passwords or codes and shows warning signs can never come back "looks real"; at most it says "we can't be sure, call the number on your card". We never call something safe without a reason the parent can check.

  2. 02

    No links in any answer

Every answer points to something the parent already trusts. Because Hold On never sends a link and never asks for anything, a "Hold On" email with a link in it is fake by definition, and the fridge card says so.

  3. 03

    Redaction before storage

Card numbers, Social Security numbers and one-time codes are removed before a message is stored. Raw messages are deleted after 90 days; the verdicts are kept for the family's timeline.

  4. 04

A person behind the uncertain ones

Anything the system is not sure about goes to a human review queue and gets an answer within 24 hours. Low confidence is said out loud, not hidden behind a guess.

  5. 05

    Four security reviews before launch

Four internal reviews of the whole service, each with a threat model and a regression test for every fix. They are our own reviews, not a third-party test, and we say so. The security pack is on request: data flow, retention, subprocessors and the review summary.

An AI model reads each message and drafts the answer inside those fixed rules; uncertain cases go to a person. Hold On gives information, not advice.

Your members, your brand, our engine.

Hold On is also available white-label. Your members get an address on your name, every answer carries your name and your real phone numbers, and every next step points to your card and your app. It sits before the payment, the moment a member is holding a message and deciding, so it works alongside account monitoring rather than replacing it. You get a monthly report in counts only, never message text, and a heads-up when members forward lookalikes of your own name. Priced per enrolled member, with a 90-day pilot for a small group to start.

Hold On is operated by Atarus Offensive Security LLC and made by Unflatline. It is a separate consumer service with its own privacy policy. Nothing a family sends to Hold On is shared with Unflatline's studio or sales work.
